we wanted to choose the black table linen with red table tunner. It looks really chic and unconventional. However my Dad is SUPER superstitious and some close relatives were also against the idea.

However my Dad is SUPER superstitious and some close relatives were also against the idea.we thought that it's our wedding and should choose what we like, regardless of that our parents or the guests think.
After much consideration we decided not to insist on our ways as we figure that it's not worth making so many people unhappy just by insisting on our own rights. There were many elderly/superstitious people at the wedding who may take offence.
As an alternative,we came up with a red shanghai chic theme instead. the white linen based table made the whole room looked so common and so un-chic...so boring.
